Mirror Mirror On The Wall

There was a high degree of creative enthusiasm and artistic innovation that flowed through the Collectors Lounge amongst sponsors during the 2012 Art Basel Miami Beach fair. And Ruinart Champagne, ABMB official champagne was right at the top transforming ordinary objects into work of art.
Maison Ruinart, founded in 1729, the oldest Champagne House has extended its marriage with art and Art Basel Miami Beach. Returning for the third year, Ruinarts art display was a floor to ceiling mirrored ice bucket which acted as a dedicated lounge designed by Herve van Der Straeten.
In 1895, Ruinart formed relationships with artists, Alfons Mucha, a Czech painter who used fine line drawing on advertising posters for its champagne. Continuing its art tradition Ruinart now partners with Herve Van der Straeten. Straeten who is known for using shapes and contours to intrigue, designed a space to replicate “The Miroir Ice Bucket” which holds up to three bottles of champagne. The silver plated ice bucket is designed in such a way that reflects off the mirrors giving an optical illusion. It also reflects the luminous colors of the Blanc de Blancs with traces of pale gold, and slightly tinted pale green reflections.
Collectors can chose from the limited edition of 50 pieces which have been crafted in the Haute Orfevrerie workshop by master silversmiths of the prestigious Manufacturer Christofle.
